I have in recent weeks abandoned the surly bonds of the electric guitar and embraced the subtle pleasures of the classical. I now inhabit a world of guitar necks the size of Sweden
and of avoiding any manual labour that may hurt those new delicate right hand finger nails – this goes down really well at home.
I’ve also found a brilliant site hosted by a talented guitarist called Allen Matthews called Classical Guitar Shed. Now there are plenty of sites out there that give online lessons and youtube is stuffed with some high quality tuition but CGS gives you a very structured approach to learning that has certainly helped me along – it is especially strong on practice techniques and on building and maintaining solid core techniques. It is also, by the way, free.
By the way, despite the title, it is not made in a shed.
